Grandma's Lemon Chiffon Pie

I love this lemon cream pie--it's delicious and I think it's really simple.

1 9" pie crust (I like graham cracker, but you can use whatever pie crust you like)
1 can Sweetened condensed milk
1/3 cup lemon juice
2-3 tsp grated lemon peel
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tarter

Combine milk, lemon juice, and lemon peel.  Blend well.  In a small bowl beat egg whites stiff with cream of tarter.  Gently fold in lemon mixture with whites and pour in prepared crumb crust.  Chill and garnish with whipped cream and lemon slices.
